Level 3 Award in Food Safety
The qualifications cover the following topics:

Food-borne illnesses
Physical contamination of food

Design and construction of food premises and equipment
Cleaning and disinfection
Pest control
Personal hygiene
Training strategies
Legislation
Management control techniques
Designed for: managers and supervisors and senior hygiene personnel.
Assessment method: Two part examination, multiple choice and short answer.

Outcome: Candidates will be able to deliver the HABC Level 2 Food Safety Awards for Catering, Manufacturing and Retail (with appropriate training skills).

Level 4 Award in Food Safety
Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace.
Employers are responsible for providing safe and healthy workplace conditions and the right systems and methods for safe activities. But employees also have a vital part to play in the equation. They need the right knowledge and the right attitude which demands proper training in the basics of health and safety, as well as specific training for individual tasks.
Equivalent to the 'foundation' level
This qualification replaces the Foundation Certificate in Health & Safety in the Workplace.
Who needs this qualification?
This new qualification is designed to ensure that all employees are aware of their own safety and the safety of customers, contractors and the public. It is applicable in any private or public sector environment.
